Containers must meet the following criteria before being accepted for recycling:
Eligible
Triple Rinsed:
Containers must be free of all residues after use. Only dry, residue-free triple rinsed containers are accepted at collection sites.
Free of Parts and Caps:
Non-HDPE parts such as caps, metal handles, and rubber linings cannot be recycled and should be disposed of as normal solid waste. Do not put a cap back on a rinsed container.
Booklet Removal:
Remove all booklets, sleeves, and easily removable paper. If you encounter difficulties with label removal, check with your ACRC Contractor.
Veterinary Products:
Containers originally designed for veterinary products.
Not Eligible
We cannot accept containers made of materials other than HDPE, rotationally molded containers, mini-bulk, intermediate bulk containers (IBC), totes, and those that previously held products in the following markets:
Consumer Home & Garden Pest Control and Swimming Pool Maintenance:
Containers that previously held products labeled for consumer use in households, lawn and garden, and swimming pool maintenance.

Quartered Containers:

Rigid high-density polyethylene (HDPE) containers, 55 gallons and smaller, eligible for recycling must have previously contained products in the following markets:

Crop Protection: Containers holding EPA-registered crop protection products labeled for agricultural use.

Specialty Pesticides and Fertilizers: Containers holding EPA-registered products labeled for professional Structural Pest Control, Animal Health, Turf and Ornamental, Vegetation Management, Nursery and Greenhouse, Forestry, Aquatics, and Public Health uses.

Dirty containers will be rejected per Ag Plastic Recycling standards

TRAILERS AND TRUCK BEDS MUST BE ENCLOSED OR COVERED WITH A TARP

For 30 and 55-gallon drums, they MUST be cut into quarters, lengthwise, before being accepted for recycling
